ACT! 2011 Has Officially Launched - Top Six Need-To-Knows

Sage ACT! 2011ACT! 2011 has officially launched today, bringing some great new features and long-awaited compatibility with Microsoft Office 2010.

Sage has posted a press release over at pitchengine.com including a summary of new features and a number of videos, including this (goofy) product hand-off ceremony including Napkin Mike.

Here are the top six things you should know about the new version:

  1. ACT! 2011 brings compatibility with Office 2010 in addition to supporting Office 2003 & 2007 (ACT! 2010 works with Outlook via a workaround) and works with Windows XP, Vista, and 7.
  2. Smart Tasks are a fantastic new feature that allow the automation of task scheduling and e-mails when contact records meet certain criteria
  3. There are some cool features you might otherwise miss that users have been asking for, including the ability to exclude users from having e-mail history attached to their records, a new and improved back button that makes navigation easier, and
  4. Outlook integration goes beyond e-mail functionality to allow you to synchronize your calendar and some or all contacts between ACT! and Outlook
  5. New import functionality allows you import directly from Excel files and to create character fields on the fly during import.
  6. For those sharing a database via a server, ACT! can be installed without Microsoft SQL on the workstations.

Let us know what you like the most about ACT! 2011 once you've had a chance to try it out or what features you're most looking forward to.
